创作背景

专辑封面1977年的一个晚上，皇后乐队在英国伯明翰附近的宾力大厅演出时，现场观众出乎意料地积极回应并激情合唱，这不在乐队的计划之中，在当时也很少见。演出结束的当晚，乐队成员布莱恩·梅便认为听众参与到演唱是必然趋势，而皇后乐队必须接受并为实现这个目标创造条件，乐队主唱佛莱迪·摩克瑞认同这一观点，并认为这将非常有趣，佛莱迪随后在“参与”这一理念的指导下创作了《We are the champions》
